So it's acting like a fully booted computer, but with error codes and no desktop. What's strange is the fact that CTRL, ALT, DEL still changes the black screen to blue with the four options in the middle (Lock, Switch User, Sign Out, Task Manager) and shut down buttons in the bottom right hand corner. Do you recommend doing the start up sooner than that? Believe me, I was so disappointed the Recovery screen never appeared for I have run out of options. The steps I found on Microsoft's website also said to shut off and wait 10 seconds before restarting, so perhaps that's too long. Actually, I found information about accessing Windows Recovery Environment last night and tried the three time shut down and restart process several times, but Windows 10 never booted into the diagnostic mode.
